<itunes:summary>From his secret Fortress of Semi-Solitude in frozen Minnesota, Randy strikes back at society...armed only with the powerful weapons of wit and bitter sarcasm. A cynic without a country, a radio talk show host without a radio talk show, casting a tall white shadow of love over all who meet him. Dealing random justice to the masses, speaking words o' wisdom through the Duct-Taped Microphone Of Truth (TM), and doing battle with his hated enemy, everybody. Can world domination be next? Huh, can it?!?</itunes:summary>

Randy in Minnesota's Sixty-Minute Radio Hour - Show 73 - S

Randy in Minnesota's Sixty-Minute Radio Hour
Show 73 - Leave (insert name here) Alone!
September 15, 2007

Huge file size: 28.1 mb (actually, not that huge)

Our promise to you...more Randy, and less often! Randy's podcast is now an hour long, but only once a week. This week, the show prep is abundant as Randy delves into Chris Crocker's "Leave Britney Alone" YouTube video and its impact on the internet community. As you might guess, the responses were numerous and instant...and Randy is there. Also, the introduction of so-called "podsafe" music to the show. And all the usual mistakes, tomfoolery, and shenanigans as well.

And sure, Randy could have waited to cover the Chris Crocker story, but who's gonna remember this a week from now. Remember "Chocolate Rain"? That guy's retired and has grandkids already.

Much of the music you hear on the show today comes from http://music.podshow.com, also from www.thefump.com (the funny music project, that is), and some incidental music by Kevin Mcleod from www.incompetech.com. It's really good stuff, so check it out.

Randy in Minnesota
Show 72 - September 10, 2007

EVERYTHING MUST GO! Starting with episode #73, the Randy in Minnesota show will use only podsafe music in an effort to stay legal...so this is a "last blast" orgy of blatant copyright violation. You see, Randy did a lot of production openings for the show using so-called "illegal" music and clears them out in this special episode. Also, some news stories and Randy comments on Britney Spears' latest career comenback debacle at the MTV Video Music Awards.

Not QUITE the final episode of Randy in Minnesota, despite Randy's own claims (on Live Journal and elsewhere) that it would be. You see, Randy is a wildly inconsistent person...most brilliant, troubled artists are. That's why he had planned for this to be the final one...until he changed his mind at the last moment.
Randy in Minnesota
Show 70 - 9/3/07

Randy can't get the hang of Labor Day but does a show anyway. He reads some news stories while experiencing a number of computer problems...and ultimately concedes that he does, indeed, produce the world's worst podcast. But it's worth it just to hear the touching last few minutes in which he talks about a man who has inspired his life and gives him hope to continue. And that man is Edward D. Wood, Jr.

Randy in Minnesota - Show 68
August 29, 2007

A fairly typical episode, filled with bad production values, frustrated rants, and angry threats to society on the whole. Also, the 10,000th time you've heard the "stupid teen beauty pageant" audio this week. But when Tony Snow sings along to the Spongebob Squarepants theme, you know you've got something special. Other topics discussed: boobs, death, and beer...all in 20 minutes, give or take.

By the way...the annoying thumping that you hear throughout is the homemade duct-taped stand for the Samson condesor mic rocking back and forth. I should have noticed this, but didn't.
